I have been making my own deodorant for a long time now, similar to your first recipe (I think 1/3 cup coco oil with 4 tbsp of the two powders). I bought Lume deodorant to try out – it’s supposed to last 72 hours. So they say. Forget that, I was stinky in 10-12 hours ๐
I find that I need to reduce the baking soda and replace that amount with corn starch/arrowroot powder. The baking soda is a bit harsh on my skin and I often have a red mark around my pits. Maybe I just need to put the paste ONLY in my pits and not the general area, idk. Do you experience this?
Try using 1/2 the amount of soda. You will only need 1/4 to 1/2 tablespoon. I also substitute a bit of shea butter for some of the coconut oil, it makes it less greasy and very soothing. Good luck
